暑假很快就過去了，新學年正式開始，你們準備好了嗎？

首先，我想談談即將在11月份舉行的中華人民共和國全國運動會。全運會是中國最高水平的綜合性運動會，每四年舉辦一次，匯集全國各地的優秀運動員，參加各種體育項目。全運會不僅是一場體育盛事，更是一個展示團結、拼搏和友誼的舞台。運動員們在賽場上奮力拼搏，展現了堅韌不拔的精神和對勝利的渴望。他們用努力和汗水告訴我們：只要有夢想並為之努力，就一定能夠實現。

在全運會中，我們還能看到運動員之間的友誼和互相尊重。無論勝負，他們都會互相鼓勵，彼此尊重，這種精神值得我們每一個人學習。友誼和尊重是我們在學校生活中同樣重要的價值觀，無論是在課堂上還是課外活動中，我們都應該互相幫助，尊重他人。

此外，全運會還強調了團隊合作的重要性。許多比賽項目需要運動員之間的默契配合，只有團結一致，才能取得最好的成績。在我們的學習和生活中，團隊合作同樣不可或缺。我們應該學會與他人合作，共同解決問題，實現共同的目標。

新學年開始，我希望大家能夠以積極的態度迎接挑戰。每一個新的學期都是一個新的開始，是我們學習新知識、結交新朋友、發展新興趣的好機會。希望大家能夠充分利用這個機會，努力學習，積極參與各項活動，讓自己的小學生活更加充實和有意義。

今年對我們學校來說也是一個特別的年份，因為我們將慶祝創校150周年。這是一個值得驕傲的時刻，我們要感謝所有為學校做出貢獻的老師、學生和家長們。希望大家能夠在這個特別的年份裡，繼續努力，為學校的未來增光添彩。

今年是學校三年發展周期的第二年，繼續以「持續發展合適學與教策略，組織跨學科及跨範疇校本課程，提升學習動機及興趣，發展具備靈活運用不同學習策略及後設認知能力的馬太人。」及「持續培育學生國民身份認同，透過價值觀教育建立正向思維、言行合一、樂意服務、對國家及社會有承擔的馬太人。」為關注事項，讓學生經歷不同的學習活動及建立正向的價值觀，以面對未來的挑戰。最後，我希望大家能夠從全運會及學校的關注事項安排的各學與教的活動中，汲取知識及力量，並將這些寶貴的價值觀融入到我們的日常生活中。讓我們一起努力，成為更加優秀的自己，為學校和社會做出貢獻。

The summer holiday has flown by, and the new school year has begun. Are you ready?

To begin, I would like to highlight the upcoming National Games of the People’s Republic of China, scheduled for November. Held every four years, this major sporting event unites top athletes from across China. More than just a competition, the Games showcase unity, perseverance, and friendship. Athletes give their best on the field, demonstrating resilience and a strong desire to succeed. Their dedication reminds us that with dreams and effort, success is within reach.

The Games also reflect friendship and mutual respect. Regardless of the outcome, athletes support and encourage one another — a spirit we can all learn from. These values are vital in our school community. Whether in class or during activities, we should help and respect each other.

Teamwork is another key theme of the Games. Many events require seamless coordination among teammates, and only through unity can the best results be achieved. In our learning and daily lives, we should always collaborate, solve problems together, and work toward shared goals.

As we begin this new school year, I encourage everyone to embrace challenges with a positive attitude. Each new term offers a fresh start — an opportunity to gain knowledge, make new friends, and explore new interests. I hope you will study diligently and participate actively to make your primary school life fulfilling and meaningful.

This year is especially significant as we celebrate our school’s 150^th anniversary — a moment of pride. We are deeply grateful to all the teachers, students, and parents who have contributed to its growth. In this milestone year, let us work together to bring even greater distinction to our school’s future.

This year marks the second year of our school’s three-year development cycle. We will continue to “sustainably develop suitable teaching and learning strategies and develop a cross-curricular, interdisciplinary school-based curriculum to boost learning motivation and equip Matthew’s students with adaptable strategies and metacognitive skills” and “cultivate students’ national identity and nurture Matthew’s students with a positive mindset, alignment between words and deeds, a willingness to serve, and commitment to our country and society through Values Education” We aim to provide students with diverse learning experiences and help them build positive values to face future challenges. Finally, I hope everyone will draw inspiration and strength from the National Games and our school’s focus areas. Let us become better versions of ourselves and contribute to the continued success of our school and society.

As Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it."
